Find your Calculator ID
On the CE, press 2nd MEM (the + key) and choose 1: About. Your ID is the ID line, like
13010-B3224. CalcX also shows it on its activation screen. -

Make a free account, add your calculator with its ID, and check out. Your 8-digit code and install files show up in your account right away.

Install
Up and running in five minutes.
You'll need a USB cable and the free TI Connect CE app from Texas Instruments. Your files are waiting in your account after you buy.
CE TI-84 Plus CE
- Your CE needs arTIfiCE to run C programs, plus the CE C libraries (
clibs.8xg). Send the newest clibs even if you already have an older copy. - Send
CXSETUP.8xp,CXAPP.0.8xvandCXAPP.1.8xvwith TI Connect CE. - Run CXSETUP once the same way you open arTIfiCE. It installs CalcX as an app.
- Press APPS, choose CalcX, then type your code.

B&W TI-84 Plus
- Send
CalcX.8xkwith TI Connect CE. Apps go into storage by themselves. - Press APPS, choose CalcX and press ENTER.
- The first time, it shows a 6-digit request code. Type it into your CalcX account to get your unlock code, then type that on the calculator. It won't ask again.
If you see Need 3K free RAM, archive or delete a few programs and launch again.
FAQ
Questions, answered.
Will a RAM clear delete CalcX?
No. On both models CalcX lives in storage (Archive), and your unlock is saved there too. After a RAM clear it's still in the APPS menu, already unlocked.
Is this allowed on tests?
Always follow your teacher's and exam rules. Many exams use Press-to-Test mode, which switches off apps and games like CalcX until the test is over.
I reset my calculator. How do I get CalcX back?
Sign in to your account. Each calculator shows what's on it, its activation code and the files to reinstall. Send the files, open CalcX and type the same code.
Can I use my code on a friend's calculator?
A CE code is made from one Calculator ID, so it only works on that calculator. Your friend can buy their own for a few dollars.
Which calculators work?
CalcX 2.2 is for the colour TI-84 Plus CE. CalcX Lite is for the black-and-white TI-84 Plus and TI-84 Plus Silver Edition. Not sure which you have? The CE is the thin one with a colour screen and a rechargeable battery.
Do I need Cesium or CalcPlex?
Not to play. Once CalcX is installed as an app it opens from APPS. Keep arTIfiCE around for installing updates.
How do I update?
Delete the old CalcX app (2nd MEM → 2 → Apps → CalcX → DEL), send the new files and run CXSETUP. Your code, settings and best scores stay.
Can I skip the intro?
Press any key to skip it, or turn it off in Settings → Boot intro.
